THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TEXAS. HER ADOPTION DONATION IS $475 AND INCLUDES TRANSPORT. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO AS IT INCLUDES INFORMATION AS TO OUR SCREENING PROCESS.

***Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time***

We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.

Our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we will reach out to coordinate a phone interview. This is followed by a video call with the foster home. Virtual home visit, personal and vet reference checks are required to complete the process. Transport is included in our adoption donation.

Athena, 1 years old (estimated DOB May 2025), spayed female, Terrier mix, currently weighs 35 pounds. She is in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas and able to transport once matched to an adopter.

Athena and her 5 siblings were found crying in the woods behind a woman's home. They did not wander there by themselves, so we believe someone purposely dumped them. The woman who found them was not able to keep them and asked for help.

Athena has grown a lot in maturity as shes gotten older, but shes still very much an active young dog who needs a home ready to provide appropriate outlets for her energy and enrichment needs. She absolutely loves playing with other dogs of all sizes and thrives on social interaction. Like many young dogs, Athena is still in a chewing phase and will need plenty of appropriate chew toys and continued guidance as she works through normal puppy behaviors.

Shes playful, curious, affectionate, and full of personality zoomies included! It almost feels like some of her puppy development was delayed, and now shes catching up on all the classic puppy stages at once. With consistency, patience, and structure, she continues to learn and mature beautifully.

Athena currently lives with older dogs and is actively learning social boundaries, especially recognizing when other dogs are finished playing. Shes eager to engage, highly social, and improves every day at reading cues from her canine friends. While she especially enjoys smaller dogs, she genuinely loves dogs of all sizes and would likely enjoy having a playful canine companion.

Training & Manners Athena is already learning her basics and knows sit, down, drop it, and come impressive progress for a young pup still discovering the world around her. Shes smart, eager to learn, and will continue to thrive with positive reinforcement and ongoing training.

Cats Athena hasnt been directly tested with cats, but due to her strong desire to play and interact constantly, she would likely try to engage cats the same way she does dogs. A cat-savvy home with slow introductions and clear boundaries may work best, though a home without cats may be ideal.

Personality Athena is sweet, affectionate, playful, curious, and loves being involved in whatever her people are doing. She would do best with a family that understands puppy behavior and is committed to continuing her training, structure, and socialization while embracing her fun-loving personality.

Ideal Home Athena would thrive in an active home that can provide:

Daily physical exercise and mental enrichment Appropriate chew toys and puppy outlets Continued training and structure Social interaction and companionship Patience and consistency as she continues maturing into an amazing adult dog

With the right family, Athena is going to grow into a wonderful companion. Shes still learning, still growing, and still figuring out the worldbut her sweet nature and eagerness to engage make her a joy to watch blossom.
