Bam Bam, 12 weeks (estimated DOB March 2026), male, Australian Shepherd mix breed, estimated to be larger size when full grown. He is in a foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS and can transport to an adopter once approved.
Bam Bam's story began in a place no puppy should ever have to call home. He and his sister were found in a known dumping area outside of Houston, Texas, alongside a darker-colored pit bull we believe may be their mother. The small family was scavenging for food and simply trying to survive when dedicated animal advocates spotted them and reached out for help. Thankfully, they were rescued and have been thriving ever since in foster care.
Today, Bam Bam is leaving his difficult beginnings behind and embracing everything puppyhood should be. He's a sweet, quiet boy who generally goes with the flow, although he occasionally likes to remind his sister who's boss when he's had enough of her antics. Like most puppies, Bam Bam enjoys bursts of playtime followed by long naps to recharge. He loves playing with other dogs, has been around children, and is learning all the important skills needed to become a wonderful family companion.
Bam Bam is already doing great with his training and is both crate trained and potty trained. He enjoys being part of the daily routine and thrives on companionship, structure, and positive experiences.
As a young puppy, Bam Bam is still developing into the dog he will become. Raising a well-socialized, confident, and well-rounded dog requires time, commitment, and intentional exposure to the world around him. Because of this, we are looking for a home where he will not be left alone for extended periods of time. We require that someone be home or available to provide care, companionship, and training, with no more than four hours at a time away from him.
Our preference is for Bam Bam to have another friendly, well-adjusted dog in the home to help teach him canine manners and provide companionship. If there is not another dog in the home, applicants should be prepared to explain how they will safely socialize him with other dogs, people, environments, and experiences as he grows and is old enough to participate in those activities.
Because Bam Bam was found as a stray, we cannot say with certainty what breeds make up his mix. It is very common for street dogs to have puppies that do not closely resemble them, as puppies in the same litter can have different fathers. The dog believed to be his mother weighs approximately 50 pounds, but we do not know who his father was, what breeds he may be, or how large Bam Bam will be when fully grown.
What we do know is that Bam Bam is a resilient little survivor with a bright future ahead of him. He is looking for a family ready to invest the time, love, training, and guidance needed to help him grow into the amazing dog he is meant to be.
Please note our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we will reach out to coordinate a phone interview. This is followed by a video call with the foster home. Virtual home visit, personal and vet reference checks are required to complete the process. Transport is included in our adoption donation.
***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***
