Binx, 1 years old, neutered male, Staffordshire Terrier mix, 70 pounds. He's located in a foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS and able to transport once an adopter is matched.
Binx showed up outside of his foster homes house one day. They spotted him on the street and he easily came up to them. No owner came forward and he was not microchipped. His fosters think he was purposefully dumped, but lucky for him he wandered to the right people!
Binx is the perfect blend of playful goofball and affectionate cuddle bug. This handsome boy has a big personality, an even bigger heart, and a hilarious way of making everyone around him smile.
When it's playtime, Binx is all in! He loves chasing toys, playing tag with dog friends his size, and entertaining himself by tossing toys into the air and bucking around like a little horse. He especially loves interactive toys and anything that crinkles. Despite his playful side, Binx is wonderfully balanced and knows when it's time to settle down. After some fun and exercise, he's happiest curled up on the couch with his people, soaking up pets and giving kisses.
Binx is incredibly smart and eager to learn. He already knows his name, "sit," "shake," and "no," and he continues to pick up new things quickly. One of his favorite activities is being brushed he could happily sit for hours enjoying gentle attention. If you stop petting him too soon, don't be surprised if he places a paw on your arm as a polite reminder to keep going!
His foster family describes him as affectionate, playful, curious, silly, and incredibly loyal. He has some adorable quirks too. He thinks he's much smaller than he really is, often balancing along the back of the couch like a tightrope walker or climbing into laps for hugs. When he's excited, he makes the funniest face, tucking his lips into his teeth while wagging so hard his entire body wiggles.
Like many dogs who haven't always had stability, Binx needs a family willing to give him patience and time to adjust. He can be cautious around unfamiliar people, especially tall men, and may need a few introductions before feeling comfortable. Once he trusts you, however, he becomes a devoted companion who loves being close to his people.
Binx would do best in a home with older children (10+) or adults who can respect his need for a slow introduction process. He does best with well balanced dogs, so ones who will not come charging at him or want to jump all over. He appreciates dogs who are calm when they approach so he can say hello and then become best friends. A fenced yard and a family who enjoys moderate activity followed by plenty of couch snuggles would be ideal.
Binx isn't looking for perfection he's looking for someone willing to see past his initial uncertainty and give him the chance to shine. With patience, consistency, and love, this goofy, cuddly boy will reward his family with endless laughs, loyalty, and companionship.
If you're searching for a dog who can make you laugh one minute and melt into your lap the next, Binx may be your perfect match.
Please note our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we will reach out to coordinate a phone interview. This is followed by a video call with the foster home. Virtual home visit, personal and vet reference checks are required to complete the process. Transport is included in our adoption donation.
