Hilda’s story
THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TEXAS. THEIR ADOPTION DONATION IS $575 AND INCLUDES TRANSPORT. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO, AS IT CONTAINS IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT OUR ADOPTION AND SCREENING PROCESS.
Our process begins with an application. If we believe it may be a good match, we will reach out to schedule a phone interview, followed by a video call with the foster home. A virtual home visit, along with personal and veterinary reference checks, are required to complete the adoption process. Once approved, the dog will be placed on the next available transport, which runs every few weeks and is included in the adoption donation. If you are not able to welcome a dog until a later date, please wait to apply until that time.
We are a volunteer-run rescue and donate our time to help these dogs find homes. If you are not serious about moving forward with the adoption process, please do not apply. If other people in your household are part of the decision, please make sure they are fully on board before submitting an application. This helps ensure we respect everyones time.
___
Hilda is the kind of puppy who makes sure everyone knows she's arrived. At just 8 weeks old, this adorable Pit Bull mix is full of confidence, curiosity, and personality. A natural leader among her littermates, Hilda isn't afraid to be the first one to investigate something new, and she's not shy about letting you know exactly how she's feeling. Whether she's announcing it's playtime or asking for attention, this vocal little girl is impossible not to love.
While we don't know who her dad is, we've included a photo of her mom. Based on her size and breed mix, we expect Hilda to grow into a large dog.
Hilda is being fostered in Austin, Texas, and is available for adoption out of state. Transport can be arranged by the rescue once matched with an approved adopter. The adoption process includes an application, phone interview, video call with the foster home, virtual home visit, and vet and personal reference checks.
Hilda has been raised in a home with children and other dogs, and she's taken it all in stride. She's been around plenty of children and does wonderfully with them, making her a great fit for a family home. She's also fantastic with other dogs and would likely enjoy having a canine companion to grow up with. She hasn't been introduced to cats yet, so we can't say for certain how she'll do with them as she gets older.
Like any 8-week-old puppy, Hilda is just beginning to learn about the world. She isn't potty trained, crate trained, or leash trained yet, so she'll need a family that's ready to guide her with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. Because she's still so young, she'll do best in a home where someone is around more often than not to help her build confidence, establish routines, and continue her socialization.
Bringing home a puppy is a big commitment, and we want to make sure everyone in the household is ready for the time, patience, and responsibility that come with raising one. The early months are an investment, but they're also some of the most rewarding as you watch your puppy grow into a lifelong companion.
Although Hilda has the confidence of a born leader, she's still very much a puppy and enjoys playing, exploring, and discovering new things. She's smart, outgoing, and always eager to see what's happening around her. With the right guidance, her confidence and expressive personality are sure to blossom into the traits that make her an incredible lifelong companion.
If you're looking for a fun, confident puppy with a big personality and an even bigger heart, Hilda just might be your perfect match. ___
